Scott Taylor continues to lead CORR Pro-2

The UP Off-Road 100 presented by Island Resort & Casino in Bark River, Michigan was the site for Round 9 & 10. The weekend saw Scott Taylor extend his championship lead to 38 points over second place.

Round 9

The land rush start found Scott in 4th place after the 1st turn sweeper. As he completed the first lap, Scott was in 2nd place with his sights set on the leader. On lap 5, Scott made an aggressive move to pass for the lead, but was given the black flag for being too aggressive. After coming in for the stop-n-go penalty, he was given another black flag for leaving the pit area too fast. After taking the second black flag penalty, Scott found himself directly behind the new leader Larry Gourlie. After running nose to tail, Scott made a clean pass on the last lap to take the win. The win was the 33rd CORR career win for Scott Taylor and his Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150.

Round 10

The land rush start found a few of the competitors making contact as the group narrowed down through the first turn. Unfortunately, Scott made contact with Kevin Probst, which destroyed the left front wheel. Fortunately, Scott was able to get to the pits where the Taylor Racing Crew was able to pry off the wheel from the control arm. When Scott returned to the track, he was almost a full lap behind the leader. As he continued to pursue the lead group, it began to rain. As the rain fell and the track became more difficult to master, Scott and his Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150 began to catch the leaders. The wet, slick conditions, Scott had experienced over the years at Bark River, gave him an advantage over most of the other competitors. At the finish, Scott Taylor finished a very respectable 4th, after being dead last after the first lap.

As the weekend ended, Scott said, "This weekend was a total team effort. Saturday the truck was flawless, the Roush prepared Mobil 1 lubricated engine really kept us in front--. Sunday the crew really kept me in the game with terrific pit work and the BFGoodrich tires hooked up in the rain giving us the chance for a respectable finish."

Win a 1st place win and a 4th place finish; Scott is now 38 points ahead of second place. The next weekend of racing is August 30-31 for the Borg-Warner Championships in Crandon, Wisconsin. Scott Taylor will also be competing in the Borg-Warner Heavy Metal Challenge, which Scott is defending champion!
