MacCachren Leads Pro-4 at Series Halfway Point
CORR Round 7, Saturday July 14, Bark River, MI
With the season at the halfway point, MacCachren Motorsports entered Saturday's event with a solid points lead. MacCachren roared off the start only to find himself fighting dirt and mud rather than fighting his fellow competitors. The Ford -150 BFGoodrich #21 entry was able to gain momentum and began picking off other entries one by one when once again the dirt and mud interfered ultimately making MacCachren almost "drive blind".
MacCachren worked his way up to 2nd place but found himself out of time thus concluding the event in 2nd place. "We were fighting the mud, I couldn't see much of anything. But I surely could feel something - a rock about the size of a softball was rolling around by my feet. It was a fight with the mud and the rock," MacCachren laughed.
CORR Round 8, Sunday July 15, Bark River, MI
At the wave of the green flag, MacCachren was 4th to Bark River's first corner. Within the first lap the Trailmaster Precision Gear truck passed the 3rd place race vehicle. Ultimately MacCachren was able to overcome 2nd place.
By the race's halfway point, MacCachren displayed the talent and teamwork that has kept him out front all season. MacCachren took the lead to win the Series 7th race of the season and build up a 38 point lead over second place contender, Curt LeDuc.
Next stop on the 2001 CORR Series schedule is Ft. Dodge, Iowa on July 28 and 29. CORR will run the cancelled Ft. Dodge event originally scheduled May 20th in Ft. Dodge.. <pre> Pos. Driver Points 1 MacCachren 130 2 LeDuc 92 3 Baldwin 88 4 Douglas 83 5 Greaves 81
