What to look for at Bark River:
HORD HEADS HOME A WINNER - Pro-Lite Boss Snow Plow Toyota Tacoma racer Chad Hord is returning home this weekend to Bark River after earning his first career truck victory in Crandon, June 22-23. The 25-year-old off-road phenom is from the Iron Mountain town of Felch, Mich., 35 miles from the Bark River Raceway. He is currently fifth in Pro-Lite points, and his consistent runs have earned him five top-5 finishes in seven races this season. Hord joined the Pro-Lite ranks last season after five successful seasons racing in the Sportsman Super Buggy class, where he won six races and the 2000 championship.
KINCAID LOOKS TO GET BACK ON TOP - After a slow start to due to bad mechanical luck, two-time defending Pro-Lite champion Jeff Kincaid looks to add a couple of victories at Bark River and regain the championship points lead. Kincaid, who swept both races in 2000 at Bark River in his Forest County Potawatomi Tacoma, is currently four points back in second-place. The Argonne, Wis., native is third in all-time CORR victories with 19 and is tied for with teammate Johnny Greaves for the record for consecutive wins with five.
GREAVES A CLOSE SECOND TOO - All-time CORR win leader Johnny Greaves' Forest County Potawatomi Toyota Tundra 4x4 may have been the truck to beat at the last event in Crandon, but on-track collisions precipitated by other competitors kept him from victory. Greaves, DePere, Wis., was able to salvage finishes good enough for second-place overall in the Pro-4 standings, just five points out. Last season, he claimed victory in Pro-4 for the first time at Bark River.
FEDERICO BACK FOR MORE - Last season, Steve Federico earned his first career truck victory at Bark River in his Ingles/Mountain Dew Toyota Tacoma. It propelled him to a great first year in Pro-Lite and the 2001 CORR Kumo Tires Rookie of the Year award. The Wilmette, Ill., resident has already earned another victory this season at Antigo and currently sits in sixth overall in the Pro-Lite standings.
