Kincaid Still Pro-Lite's Point Leader
Bark River, MI...In Round 11 on Saturday, August 11, Jeff Kincaid and his Forest County Potawatomi Toyota were 8th on the starting grid. Kincaid was in fourth place around the first right sharp corner from a land rush start. He was battling with Steve Frederico for third place and passed him in front of the grandstands going into the back part of the track. For the next few laps, Kincaid gained on Jason Crowder and battled for second place. Neck and neck entering the long jump hill, Kincaid eventually passed Crowder for second place. Rick Huseman had too big of lead for Kincaid to reel him in for a first place finish. A second place finish for Kincaid gave him a 20-point lead over second place point's holder, Steve Frederico.
Staying on the outside of the track from the start of the race in Round 12 on Sunday, August 12, Kincaid got mudded up on the first corner and drove over the wall. Rookie Chad Hord rolled on that first corner, Art Schmitt drove right over the top of Hord, and all the other drivers swerved to the side, pushing Kincaid even further off the track! He drove into the deep crevice and right out of it and landed in ninth place. Kincaid worked his way up to sixth place and was gaining on Matt Foltz on lap 3. At the same time, Schmitt was gaining on Frederico for second position. Jason Crowder was out front of the rollover from the start of the race and had a great lead. Kincaid passed Foltz and Jimmie Crowder on the next lap for fourth position. Kincaid pulled off the track but came right back on. He missed a gear and lost a valve, finishing the race with 3 cylinders. Kincaid and his Forest County Potawatomi Toyota were lucky to finish the race in eighth place. Schmitt passed Frederico on the next lap and went on to finish second. Jason Crowder picked up his second win this season. Kincaid maintained his first place point standings with a 16-point lead.
The next round of racing will be held in Kincaid's hometown for the Forest County Potawatomi Races at the Crandon International Raceway on September 1 and 2.
