Avon, IN (April 15, 2002)--Bob Noskowiak, President of the Antigo Kiwanis Club, announced today that the Kiwanis Club and the Mole Lake Regency Casino have reached an agreement in reference to sponsoring the Kiwanis Off Road Championship race held in Antigo at the Langlade County Fairgrounds for the past 18 years.

The Antigo Event is one of seven races sanctioned by Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) and will be held on June 7, 8 & 9, 2002. CORR recently announced that Antigo is one of only two events to enter into a multi-year sanctioning agreement. Other CORR venues include Edmeston, NY, Crandon, WI, Bark River, MI, and Milan, MI.

Off Road Racing has a long history in Antigo. With a humble beginning in 1984 with local drivers, the race has become one of the premiere sites of the CORR Lucas Oil Series. The Langlade County Fairgrounds is favored by drivers, crews, sponsors and spectators because of the modern facilities, accessibility and proximity to concessions, camping and the track. Drivers favor the Antigo event because the actual track is improved each year and includes a variety of challenges.

The local Track Director, Gary "Pickles" Nicholson continues to make improvements to the track and overall racing conditions at Antigo. His efforts contribute to the tremendous growth of off road racing, both locally and nationally through Speed Channel television productions.

Over the years in Antigo, nationally known drivers have competed at the Antigo event. Jimmie Johnson of NASCAR fame has driven trucks at the Antigo track. The legendary Walker Evans and Flannery family have been regular participants in PRO 4. Dan Vanden Heuvel, PRO 2 driver has family ties to Antigo and is the local favorite.

According to Jim Meisinger the local race Promoter, the combination of a multi-year sanctioning agreement and sponsorship of the Mole Lake Regency Casino places Antigo in fore front of the CORR Series venues. Drivers, sponsors, CORR, Promoters and spectators all look for stability. The strong Sponsorship of the Regency Casino and a multi-year contract gives the local race the stability needed to continue in the nationally televised series.

Meisinger said "CORR has entered three year contracts with Speed Channel for national television coverage and the Series Sponsor, Lucas Oil. Antigo has agreed to a multi-year contract and the Sponsorship from Mole Lake greatly increases the success of the local event. Effective today, the Antigo Race will be called the Mole Lake Regency Casino Off Road Championship".

Ms. Sandra Rachal, Chairperson of the Mole Lake Sokaogon Chippewa stated that the Regency Casino is extremely pleased to be associated with the Antigo Kiwanis Club and the Antigo race. Rachal said that the Sokaogon Chippewa pride themselves in helping the local communities. "The Antigo event is promoted by the Antigo Kiwanis Club and there is no better way to invest in the community than through the efforts of the Club to help the youth of our communities".
