Reno, NV (December 7th, 2008) ---Speed Technologies, one of the largest off-road race teams in the US and Mexico and winners of the Teacte SCORE Baja 1000 in 2008, trumped the competition again this weekend at the Henderson FabTech Desert Classic. The bike division of this championship off-road team not only took home two first place wins, but managed to nab the overall season win in both the 250 Pro and 250 Expert Class for the Best in the Desert Series.
Bike competitors Cody Wallis and Martin Kite captured the 250 Pro win and Ryan Toomey and Cody Knight brought home the 250 overall expert class win for the 2009 season. The bike team competed against 30 people in 250 Expert and over 20 people in 250 Pro to take home this year's championship win.
"We are so proud of our bike team," said team owners John Harrah. "They continue to excel each year and really know how to work together -- they're a huge asset to Speed Technologies"
This is the first year the Speed Technologies bike team raced the Best in the Desert Series but still managed to win first place in each Best in the Desert race this season with the exception of the Laughlin race where they each placed in the top five. Supported by the Speed Technologies pit crew and staff the team receives first class training and support all year long.
"We knew that if we did well in the Henderson that we could take home the overall," said team racer Ryan Toomey. "But not only did we do well we managed to each take home first in our class -- bringing the Speed Technologies team another victory on top of their recent Baja 1000 first place win."
