Riviera Racing Challenges America's Top Racers in Longest Off Road Race in the United States
Laguna Hills, CALIFORNIA -- Riviera Racing's "2007 Desert Domination Tour" continues. Racers Mark Post and Rob MacCachren, have diligently prepared for what is expected to be one of the best races of the season, Best in the Desert's TSCO Vegas to Reno race. Slated to kick off Friday morning, America's top off road racers will fire up their 800 horsepower race trucks in search of the finish line and surviving the barren and tortuous Nevada desert.
Riviera Racing is prepared to tackle the 559.3 mile race that begins just outside of Pahrump, Nevada. The race course winds its way through a myriad of terrain, that includes scorching hot temperatures, extreme elevation changes, deep silt beds and hidden rock gardens that the state of Nevada is well known for.
Leading the Best in the Desert Trick Truck class is the #3 Riviera Racing Trick Truck led by driver, Mark Post. Together with teammate, Rob MacCachren, this racing duo has captivated a wide audience of fans, racers and media with their tremendous streak of hard-fought wins in 2007. In early February, they were victorious in the difficult Parker 425 and then sprinted to an epic win at the Terrible's Town 250.
Of the six combined races (BITD and SCORE) so far in the 2007 season, Post and MacCachren, have been victorious in four of those races and finished in the top five in the other two races they did not win. Heading into this week's race, Riviera Racing holds a solid 17 point lead over the Trick Truck field.
Mark Post explained, "Our team has performed to near perfection almost all season long. From the prep of the race truck by Jim Blackmore and the crew, to the solid pit stops and fast driving, we have capitalized on all facets of the race team to win. And I might add, we plan to continue our execution of competitive racing as the second half of the season begins this week with the Vegas to Reno race. Both Rob and I had great pre-runs and although we are expecting challenges from many top teams that are coming to this race, we plan to be first to the finish line!"
The No.3 trophy truck will take to the start line of the Vegas to Reno time trials on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 6:00 a.m. with race action beginning Friday, August 24, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Pahrump, Nevada.
