Riviera Racing Thunders for the "Blue Water Casino Parker 425"
Laguna Hills, CALIFORNIA -- Riviera Racing will debut desert racing's dynamic duo for the first time in the Arizona desert, as they race in the first of the five-race 2007 Best in the Desert Silver States Series. The Blue Water Casino Parker 425 is a legendary race that has long captured the mystic of desert racers. This year's edition will be no different as thousands of fans flock to Parker, Arizona in search of excitement in the fast lane.
After a brief stint behind the wheel at the season opener in Laughlin, Nevada only eight days ago, Riviera Racing's two veteran drivers have prepared for what is expected to be a fast and treacherous race on the shores of the Colorado River resort community of Parker, Arizona.
"We're excited about this race. The Parker 425 has long been one of my favorite races and after a solid top five finish at Laughlin in the SCORE series, we're ready to get it done at Parker. Both Rob and I had good preruns and I'm confident we'll have a good race," stated team owner, Mark Post.
The immediate challenge for Riviera Racing was placed on the shoulders of veteran crew chief, Jim Blackmore, who was saddled with a race of his own. With only ten days in between the SCORE and BITD season openers, the #3 race truck was diligently prepped as the team continues to implement their strategic 2007 race plans.
Mark Post will split time behind the wheel of the #3 Riviera Racing Trick Truck with Rob MacCachren, who at the first race of the season, set a blistering pace on Saturday leading all racers. So far this year, Post and MacCachren have already set the stage for what is expected to be an unprecedented winning season for this veteran race team.
During prerunning, Post and MacCachren experienced new sections of race course that could present problems for the competition. As his racing competition will tell you, Rob is one competitor who does his prerun homework. Articulation of the fastest lines in the desert is one job that Rob MacCachren has perfected.
"I race hard and run as fast as I can, with the understanding that we have get to the finish line. Up and coming racers occasionally ask me what my secret to winning is and I tell them all the same thing, race as slow as you can to win and make it to the finish line. In off road racing you have to finish in order to have a chance at winning and many racers have problems making it to the checkered flag," explained MacCachren.
Drivers and crew members will be on hand during contingency at the Blue Water Resort and Casino. Stop by and say hello to Riviera Racing's Rob MacCachren and Mark Post.
