"The Legend Lives On"
Las Vegas, Nevada - The Parker Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Board, along with the blessings of the Colorado River Indian Tribes, has chosen Best In The Desert Racing Association to promote the 2003 - Parker"425" ~ "The Legend Lives On!" The Best In The Desert Racing Association was chosen as the promoter of the Parker "425" based on their outstanding reputation for professionalism, their high standards for safety concerns, and the knowledge Casey Folks, Race Director, has for promoting events and laying out racecourses.
Best In The Desert Director Casey Folks says, "We are so excited and proud to have been chosen to promote the Parker "425". I think this is going to be one of the most exciting races in our 2003 - "Silver State Series" line up! The Parker race has a great following and a long history as being one of the great legendary races in off-road racing! Not only is the Parker event a legendary race, but I expect the great legends to be there! We are promoting the Parker "425" as "The Legend Lives On" and that is exactly what I plan to deliver. We are going to have vintage race vehicles on display, as well as the racers that raced them! Legends like Parnelli Jones, Ivan Stewart, Rod Hall, Jack Johnson and Larry Roeseler, just to name a few. Expect a great event!"
The Parker "425" will be held on a new date, February 7, 8, 9, 2003, in Parker, Arizona, and Folks has added 30 miles to the existing 3-loop course. The race will start in downtown Parker and finish at the beautiful Blue Water Resort & Casino, along the mighty Colorado River. The event will feature a full array of off-road vehicles, which include Motorcycles, Quads, Cars and Trucks. Folks says, "We couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for the finish line, I can't wait to start promoting the Parker "425"!
The Motorcycle and Quad community will see a new twist with the Parker event. The Motorcycle and Quad race will be called the Parker Hare & Hound. This will be a new type of format for the Motorcycle and Quad community and will fill a void that will be well received by these racers!
Major sponsors of Best In The Desert are Ford Motor Company, Official Truck of Best In The Desert, Goodyear Tires, Official Tire of Best In The Desert and the Blue Water Resort & Casino.
Registration, Technical Inspection and Contingency will be held Friday, February 7, 2003, from 10am to 6pm at the Blue Water Resort & Casino.
