Tigerflow Racing Teams Earn More Wally's in the Heartland

Topeka, Ks -- Last weekend marked the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series annual event at Heartland Park Raceway presented by Aeromotive. This was event five of six within the High & Mighty Division 5 as the 2009 drag racing season moves into the finale to define who will carry the championships into 2010.

With weather conditions favorable to all the teams, Tigerflow Racing finished the event with a pair of victories, two runner up placements and a quarter final finish in Super Comp.

In the Top Alcohol Dragster category, Tigerflow's Co-Executive Monroe Guest, driving the Todd Odom A/Fuel Dragster, made his way to the final round against eventual Event Winner Teammate, Brandon Lewis of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Guest, who was only in his second outing within the class, admits that he felt they were the car to beat for the weekend with improving times every run and the main thing, consistency.

"At the end of qualifying" noted Guest "we ended up the #1 qualifier running a 5.226 at 268.92 miles per hour. Everything laid down perfectly on that pass and we were elated at the way everything just slapped together for such a terrific pass to move into eliminations that evening.

"We had a problem with the fuel pump when I put it over to the high side which forced the enforced our number one rule of safety first, so it was best to through in the towel and not make the pass giving Brandon the Wally for the Event" continued Guest.

Super Gas produced the second Wally of the event for 2009 multi event winner Tommy Phillips. Phillips was well on his way for yet another possible double up performance as he not only made it to the Winner's Circle in Super Gas, but also to the quarter finals within his Super Comp Dragster.

The 2009 GXP Cobalt of Keith Haney also made his way into the final round after 5 solid rounds of competition where he gave a little too much stripe and broke out by only 8 thousandths of a second to event winner Tom Donovan.

In addition to all of the excitement for the Tigerflow Racing Teams, Guest and his team received the Best Appearing Crew Award.
