BAYTOWN, Texas - Rookie Federal Mogul Dragster driver Erica Walsh-Credeur will enter her second race, and first national event of her career during this weekend's O'Reilly Nationals presented by Pennzoil at Houston Raceway Park.

The former 1992 Miss Rodeo Louisiana, from Lafayette, La., qualified No. 8 and lost her first round match up with heavy hitter Joe Fuentes at her first race in Baton Rouge, La. Walsh-Credeur has stated that this season is for her to get seat time, and to learn as much as possible. With one race under her belt, she hopes to improve in Houston, along with continuing her learning curve.

"This is my first national event, so it's going to be a tougher and quicker field," said Walsh-Credeur. "We definitely want to step it up and qualify with a strong 5 second run [elapsed time]. We also want to make it past the first round this time, and go from there."

Walsh-Credeur ran a career best 6.07 at 252 mph on a run that was far from perfect in Baton Rouge. With tuning assistance from former World Champion Tom Conway, she feels her Black Max Downhole Tools sponsored Blown Alcohol Dragster has much more left in it.

"We saw in Baton Rouge that I was letting my rpm's drop a little right before the run, and that was really hurting us," stated Walsh-Credeur. "If I can get the staging rpm right and leave a little harder, we should be able to see what the car can do."

Qualifying begins on Friday for the Federal Mogul Dragsters at 10 a.m., with another session at 1 p.m. Qualifying will resume Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m., with first round of eliminations at 4:30 p.m. Stay tuned to www.SummitRacing.com's Drag Race Central</A> for round by round updates from Houston.
