Vincent Nobile used his prowess on the starting line to earn himself $50,000 and the title of the youngest-ever winner of the K&N Pro Stock Horsepower Challenge on a steamy Saturday at Norwalk Motorsports Park.

The 20-year-old Nobile claimed holeshot wins in the semifinal against Mike Edwards and again in the final against Jason Line to take the trophy, becoming just the fifth driver in the 29-year history of the K&N special event to win in his first year in the eight-car event.

"My crew handled it great today, they really prepared the car well and I can't thank them enough," Nobile said. "It's pretty freaky how this year has been going. This is a cool deal. I got a little emotional on the other end of the track. Norwalk has been treating me well and I don't see why we can't come out and win tomorrow."

Nobile dispatched top qualifier Allen Johnson in the opening round of the competition - significant as Nobile's team gets his engines from the Johnson program.
