Troy Is Pro Stock Runner-up Jeg And Mike Go Down In The Semifinals

The racing resumed today after a one day delay, which was caused by cold temperature and a light mist.

In the second round Jeg faced off against Mike Trumble, Jeg had lane choice and took the right lane. Mike Trumble rolled into both beams before Jeg had even flickered a bulb. The JEG'S Mail Order machine launched from the starting line and blasted down the middle of the groove.

Jeg took the win and ripped of an impressive 6.84 @ 200 Mph, which was the quickest and fastest run of the round. Jeg noted, "We finally got this car to the point that we have been trying to get to all weekend."

Troy went head-to-head with Steve Schmidt, Coughlin took the right lane. Troy left the starting line and never looked back. Steve Schmidt ran into problems and had to shut off. The JEG'S machine took the win light and advanced to the next round. Troy said, "This car still has some room for improvement."

Mike Coughlin and the four remaining Pro Stock drivers were on hold for two days. The Pro Stock Truck's joined the rest of the professional classes during the semifinal round.

Mike had lane choice over Larry Kopp in the semifinal round, the JEG'S truck took the right lane. Both drivers took off toward the finishline and the win light. Larry Kopp took the win light. Mike said, "We picked up more points, which will help us get closer to the number one spot. We will go to Memphis and start where we left off."

Jeg Coughlin faced Mike Edwards in the semifinal round, Coughlin took the left lane. The two cars staged together and left together. Jeg and his yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order machine darted down the middle of the groove. The got a little loose around the 1000' foot clock, but Jeg stayed with it.

Edwards took the win. Jeg stated, "We ran strong all weekend, we found something in the car that we have been search for a while. You count on seeing this car perform well through the end of the season."

In the semifinal round Troy took on Kurt Johnson, Troy had lane choice and took the right lane. The #24 JEG'S Mail Order Olds Cutlass launched from the starting line and followed the groove all the way to the win light. Kurt got out of shape at half track and pushed in the clutch. Troy commented, "The team has really done their work this weekend, the car has a new attitude and I like it."

Troy went head-to-head with Mike Edwards in the final round. A Federal-Mogul Dragster oiled down the right lane so the JEG'S machine moved to the left lane. Edwards took the starting line advantage. The two cars raced side-by-side toward the finishline. Edwards took the win light by .019 seconds. Troy said, "We had a good weekend and we almost had a great one. I gained more points and we got my car to the performance level that it should be at. I look forward to going to Memphis and continue the momentum."
