TOPEKA, Kan. (Saturday May 5) - Today in Topeka, Kan. Team DBP drivers, Greg Stanfield and Bart Price, will enter eliminations at the 13th Annual Advance Auto Parts NHRA Nationals holding the seventh and fifteenth spots on the Pro Stock Truck eliminations ladder.

In the second round of qualifying Stanfield ran a 7.509 / 180.16 mph to take the seventh spot. Stanfield will meet Victor Cagnazzi in Round 1 of eliminations.

"We have struggled with our clutch this weekend," said Stanfield. "We started out bad, and then went backwards. The good news is that we came back around in the last session.

"It has been a while since we have struggled like this. It is frustrating, but if there is an upside, it makes us try harder.

"We are not number one, but maybe that is part of our plan. There are not going to be any easy races tomorrow. The racetrack is even, and you are going to have to drive to win this thing. If that is the case I think we will be all right tomorrow.

Bart Price

Team owner and driver Bart Price ran a 7.543 / 178.97 mph in the second session of qualifying which placed him in the 15th spot on the eliminations ladder. He is paired against Number 2 qualifier Don Smith in Round 1.

"It is great that we have both trucks in the show," said Price. "That is what we wanted to do here. I was kind of worried there for a while, but I am glad to be in the show.

"We started out with a bad run in the first session, but we got back in the right direction before it was all over with.

"Tomorrow is going to be a good race no matter who wins. This is a great bunch of guys out here. They are all good drivers and good competitors.

"The lanes and the racetrack are very good, so that will make this a drivers race. I believe that some of the drivers in this class are the best anywhere. I think the fans are going to be treated to some of the best Pro Stock Truck racing they will see all year. Hopefully, when the smoke clears on the final that one of our purple trucks is in the winner's circle."

Eliminations at the 13th Annual Advance Auto Parts NHRA Nationals begin at 11:00 AM CST on Sunday May 27.
