WORLD'S QUICKEST DRAGSTER HOPES TO REGAIN GROUND IN MEMPHIS

TOPEKA, KS. (Oct. 3) - Larry Dixon and the Don Prudhomme-owned Miller Lite Dragster overcame windy conditions and extremely cold temperatures Sunday to post their best lap of the weekend with a time of 4.674 seconds at 311.77 m.p.h. en route to a first-round finish at the 11th Annual Advance Auto Parts Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka.

After completing the first round of competition for the professional categories, racing was postponed due to the cold weather that made the track surface unsafe. Action will resume on Monday, Oct. 3.

With the first-round finish, the Miller Lite Team currently sits in eighth place (978 points) in the 1999 NHRA Winston Top Fuel Standings with 16 rounds of competition remaining in the final four races of the season.

Dixon and the Miller Lite Team will be back in action next week (Oct. 7-10) when they look to stay in the hunt for the Winston Top Fuel Championship at the 12th Annual Auto Zone Nationals in Memphis, Tenn. - Snake Racing -
