Sunday's 4th Round

TOPEKA, KS - RIS - Results of final round eliminations in Pro Stock Bike at the 8th Annual Sears Craftsman Nationals:

W/L Driver RT ET Speed (W) John Myers 3.148 7.561 177.13 (L) Angelle Seeling (Broke)

But this does not tell the entire story. Angelle Seeling was never seriously challenged during the weekend at Topeka. She was consistently running 7.4's Her competitions was running at best high 7.4', mostly 7.5's.

John Myers is Angelle's teammate at Star Racing. Angelle did not break, she simply did not appear to run the final round. She was at the starting line with the rest of her team to urge Myers on. He had retaken the points lead from Mike Schultz failed to make it to the second round of eliminations. Angelle chose on her own not to make the finals to help her team gain more points toward the championship.

In an interview with TNN as Myers was doing his burn out, she said that she owed the Star Racing Team a great deal. This was the least she could do to help the team out.

Angelle's first win came just two weeks ago at the Keystone Nationals. She would have like to add another, but first of all she is a team player. George Bryce told her to run the race, but she said no. If she had presented her motorcycle, she would have had to race Myers to win. If her times are any indication, she would have done so easily. If she had come to the line, and lost, there would have been questions about "team orders". This way there is no question. Angelle Seeling, quickest racer on a Pro Stock Motorcycle, is also a classy person.

If John Myers has the championship in hand going into the final rounds at the last race of the season, look for Angelle to go head to head with her teammate. It will be quite a race.
