DIXON RACES TO FIRST-ROUND EFFORT AT TOPEKA
TOPEKA, Kan. (May 28, 2006) After qualifying in the No. 9 position, two-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon drove his Don "the Snake" Prudhomme-owned Miller Lite dragster to a first-round finish Sunday at Heartland Park Topeka.
The 38-time NHRA winner and Top Fuel rival Brandon Bernstein used identical .091 (of-a-second) reaction times as Dixon drove the Miller Lite/Lucas Oil rail to a pass of 4.755 seconds at 295.08 mph, but it wasn't enough as Bernstein raced to a performance of 4.625 seconds to score the round win.
