Mike and John Coughlin ran side-by-side in their identical looking Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10's. Mike took on the right lane and John was in the left lane. Mike ran a 7.639 at 176.53 mph and slipped to the No. 9 position. John laid down a run of 7.637 at 175.50 mph and fell to the No. 15 spot.

"We were looking to make a stronger run during the third session," stated Mike. "We off a little, but we know what direction we need to go to improve."

"We made some changes to the set up and the truck just did not respond how we wanted it to," said John. "We learned more about what the truck and track want."

In the final session John did not improve his qualifying position. He ran 7.747 at 174.11 mph and remained in the No. 14 position.

"The conditions during the final session did not improve us," said John. "We will be ready for tomorrow when it counts the most."

Mike also did not improve in his last attempt. He ran a 7.673 at 174.77 mph and stayed in the No. 9 slot.

"We will spend a lot of time looking over all of our data before the sun comes up tomorrow," noted Mike. "We will all have our game faces on tomorrow."

Mike Coughlin will line up next to Bart Price in the opening round. John Coughlin will battle Steve Johns in round one.
