GLENDORA, Calif. - Tim Schuldt has been named director of sponsor marketing for the National Hot Rod Association, NHRA Vice President for Marketing Gary Darcy announced. In his new position, Schuldt, 35, will be responsible for developing customized marketing programs and initiatives and working closely with the NHRA sales department to ensure maximum value for all of the NHRA's sponsorship partners. "We are excited to have an individual of Tim's caliber to direct our sponsor marketing initiatives at NHRA drag racing," Darcy said. "His ability to develop marketing programs that encompass promotions, merchandising and direct impressions will bring an added value to our sponsors. In keeping with our three-year plan, this establishes our desire to put sponsorship relations on the top of our list while making it work for fans, competitors and the NHRA." Schuldt accepted the position following a distinguished career in marketing and sales with several prominent companies, including the Coors Brewing Co. and Pepsi Cola. During the past decade, Schuldt served as field marketing manager for the Coors Brewing Co., where he managed marketing projects for distributors over a 10-state region. He negotiated sponsorships, local media packages and developed local promotions and merchandising resources. At Pepsi Cola's Northwest Business Unit he served as marketing director, where he managed sales and marketing budgets with focus on sports sponsorship projects for the University of Washington and the Seattle Mariners. "I'm very excited about joining the NHRA team and certainly welcome the challenge of assisting the world's largest motorsports organization as it moves forward during this exciting time in motorsports," Schuldt said. "I am looking forward to working with the many sponsors that support NHRA and servicing them in order to help their sponsorship commitments translate into bottom line results." Schuldt, a native of Sioux City, Iowa, received a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a major in management from Iowa State University. He and his wife, Heather, are relocating to the Los Angeles area. They have one daughter, Anna Marie, 3.
