STANTON, Mich. - Just one weekend after winning his third career national event victory, NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Marc White and the Etterman Racing Team will head into the Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, Mich., for race three in the Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. With both of the previous Division 3 events being postponed due to rain, White hopes to win the first Division 3 event this year.

White, from Glendale Heights, Ill., has had a good bit of success racing during the 'dog days of summer.' Last year in June, White won the Sears Craftsman Nationals and runner-upped at the NHRA Sportsman All-Stars event. In July and August, he kept the pace up by winning Division 3 events in Columbus and Cleves, Ohio, and a runner-up finish in Bowling Green, Ky. White hopes to start another summertime run in Stanton.

"As much as we would like to run at just good tracks in good air, we seem to do pretty well in the summer," said White. "We have a lot of momentum coming straight out of Columbus, and I hope we can keep it going in Stanton. It's going to be tough though, I'm sure all the other guys in Division 3 will be more than happy to burst our bubble."

This will be the first Division 3 event held at the Mid-Michigan Motorplex since it switched over to NHRA sanction after last year. With no prior runs on this track for most of the teams, White feels this will be a tuner's race.

"Nobody has any runs down this track," stated White. "Whoever gets it figured out first will have a definite advantage. I'm sure it's going to be hot, so it won't be easy. If the conditions are right, you might see a high .70, and I definitely think it will take low .80's to get the job done on Sunday."

Qualifying begins on Friday evening for the alcohol cars, followed by two more sessions Saturday evening. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
