Jeg is looking to win from the no. 2 spot.

After four scheduled qualifying sessions Jeg and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier landed in the No. 2 position.

Jeg started the second and final day of qualifying looking to improve from the No. 6 position. In the third session Team JEG'S answered the call with authority. The yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier posted an impressive 6.771 at 203.65 mph and moved to the No. 2 spot in the qualifying order.

"Before I pulled into the water box for the third session I was confident we would have to fight our way back into the field," said Jeg. "This is a trend that has been pretty common in Pro Stock this season and I don't see it changing anytime soon. We put our best foot forward and made a great run when we needed to in the third session. Having a solid baseline to tune from last night (Friday) helped us today."

In the final session Jeg rocketed to another impressive run in the heat of the day. Jeg posted a 6.794 at 203.12 mph. The run was the 3rd quickest run of the session and he remained in the No. 2 position.

"We feel pretty good going into race day," commented Jeg. "The last three runs we made were strong and now we just need to focus on going rounds.

Jeg and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier will go head-to-head against Greg Stanfield in the opening round of the FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals at Infineon Raceway. Infineon Raceway is the only track on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series schedule the reigning NHRA Pro Stock champion has yet to score a victory at.
