Summit Racing Equipment renews series sponsorship and official status.

GLENDORA, Calif. - (Feb. 3, 2004) - Summit Racing Equipment has renewed its sponsorship of the Summit Racing Equipment Series as well as its status as the Official Mail Order Catalog of NHRA, officials of the world's largest sanctioning body announced today.

As part of the multi-year agreement, Summit Racing Equipment will continue to sponsor NHRA's popular E.T. racing program, which is contested at NHRA member tracks across the country and culminates in a national championship at the Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., in November. As the series sponsor, Summit Racing Equipment provides participating member tracks with materials to promote the series among their racers, as well as apparel for racers who compete at the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Series Finals.

The NHRA Summit Racing Series features a bracket racing format allowing drivers in many types of cars, including dragsters, roadsters, sedans and coupes, to compete against each other. In addition to three categories of competition for cars, a motorcycle category also is featured.

NHRA Summit Racing Series racers compete for points and cash awards in a number of qualifying events at 140 NHRA member tracks throughout North America. Drivers who gain the most points then compete for individual and team honors at the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Series Finals in each of NHRA's seven divisions. Individual winners in each category receive a division trophy and travel expenses to attend the Summit Racing NHRA National E.T. Finals, where they will compete for a winner-take-all $5,000 purse.

Summit Racing Equipment, the industry's largest direct marketer of performance automotive and truck equipment, is based in Tallmadge, Ohio, with warehouses in Tallmadge and Sparks, Nev. Founded in 1968, Summit Racing markets products through mail-order catalogs and the Internet.

Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., the NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. It presents 23 national events through its NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The NHRA has 80,000 members nationwide and 140 member tracks. The NHRA-sanctioned sportsman and bracket racing series provide competition opportunities for drivers of all levels. The NHRA develops the stars of tomorrow by offering the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Series, NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series and the NHRA Street Legal Program. The NHRA also offers the NHRA O'Reilly Auto Parts Jr. Drag Racing League for youths ages 8 to 17.
