CLERMONT, Ind. (Sept. 4, 2010) - JEGS Mail Order, a nationwide leader in the sales and distribution of parts and supplies for the aftermarket performance industry, has signed a multi-year agreement with NHRA to renew its title sponsorship of all three NHRA SPORTSnationals events it was announced today during a news conference at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, the world's most prestigious drag race.

The three NHRA SPORTSnationals events, which is a part of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, are as follows: the JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La.; the JEGS NHRA Northern SPORTSnationals at historic National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio; and the JEGS NHRA Pacific SPORTSnationals at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, Calif.

"JEGS Mail Order is pleased to return as the title sponsor of all three NHRA SPORTSnationals events," said Scott Woodruff, director of media and motorsports for JEGS Mail Order. "We feel like the NHRA SPORTSnationals, a premier brand in the sportsman community, is a perfect fit for JEGS Mail Order. And going forward, we expect to add several new and exciting elements to the race program so that all three events continue to grow in popularity and remain must-attend races on the sportsman calendar."

The JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals are NHRA national events designed to showcase several of NHRA's Lucas Oil Series categories exclusively. Competitors in Comp Eliminator, Stock, Super Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will compete for more than $50,000 at each of the JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals events. NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series national event points will be awarded to drivers in all categories except Super Street, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster (drivers in these categories will be awarded divisional championship points).

In addition, all three events will feature NHRA class eliminations, including the Super Stock Hemi class at the JEGS NHRA Northern SPORTSnationals, along with a variety of specialty racing.

"The Coughlin family has such a successful heritage in NHRA sportsman racing," said Gary Darcy, senior vice president of sales and marketing, NHRA. "All three races have become extremely popular and with the return of JEGS Mail Order we're confident that the events will continue to grow and provide great experiences for racers and fans alike."

The JEGS Mail Order sponsorship footprint in NHRA also includes the popular JEGS Allstars at Route 66 Raceway near Chicago, the JEGS Super Quick Series in NHRA Division 3, major contingency sponsorships as well as primary car sponsorships in a variety of NHRA classes.

The JEGS "yellow-and-black" paint scheme can be found on the family race cars that compete in several Lucas Oil Series classes, the Get Screened America Pro Mod Series, and most notably in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series where fans would immediately recognize the four-time NHRA Full Throttle Series world champion JEGS.com Chevrolet Cobalt Pro Stock car driven by Jeg Coughlin Jr.

NHRA renewed the popular SPORTSnationals event in 2004 after hosting the event annually from 1974-1986 at a trio of tracks, including Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky. (1974-'80; 1985-'86), the old Houston International Raceway (1981-'82) and Indianapolis Raceway Park (1982-'83). A year later NHRA expanded the special sportsman-only events to a trio of races at diverse locations across the U.S.
