KENT, Wash. (July 28, 2000) - The following is a summary of quotes from Dodge Motorsports and Team Mopar drivers after the first round of qualifying for the Prolong Superlubricants Northwest Nationals at Seattle International Raceway.=20

(Numbers denote elapsed time, speed, qualifying position and qualifying lane)

(LARRY MORGAN, driver of the Dodge Motorsports Pro Stock Avenger)(7.007 - 197.74 - 16th - Left )

"The left lane is real good at the starting line. We ran through the clutch pretty bad. I figured I could have run a 6.94 or 6.95. It was a real bad run. We were sixth in speed. I think we'll be okay though. "I think everything transferred over from Denver."

(Morgan qualified third during the Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway.)

(SCOTT GEOFFRION, driver of the Team Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Avenger) (6.963 - 197.36 - fifth - Left)

"The left lane has always been better the first 300 feet. The right lane has always been better down track. In the right lane, the racing groove always wants to send the car to the center lane. You just have to know that when you are staging and stage a little to the right. The left lane is bumpy down track. The two lanes are just a lot different.

"It's just amazing how Darrell's (Alderman) runner-up in Denver has boosted the morale on this team. With my car running good there and Larry (Morgan) having such a good run, it's just been great. The morale and chemistry has just been taken to the next level. That's awesome. People are starting to read each other's minds. We don't have to communicate with each other to know what the car needs. It's only going to get better from here on out. We're going to start romping on them."

(DARRELL ALDERMAN, driver of the Team Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Avenger) (6.969 - 197.25 - seventh - Right)

"We had a pretty good run out there. Usually the left lane is a little bit better here. David (Nickens, co-car owner) just looked at the spark plugs and he thinks the engine was a little rich. He's going to move the timing a little and take the jet out of it and see what we can do.=20

"This is a hell of a crew here. Having both cars qualified and me making the final in Denver has really helped this team. It was really a fix for this team. When you work as hard as these guys do, good thing start to happen."

(DEAN SKUZA, driver of the Matco Tools/Mopar Parts Dodge Avenger Nitro Funny Car) (8.919 - 94.69 - 16th - Right)

"This next run we just want to get down the track. That's what we tried to do the first one, but it just didn't work. We are currently tuning it to just get down the track. We were just a smidge off. This place always throws us a curve because the starting line is so good and the air is so good that it takes us an additional run. I would like to, at least, get close to the numbers we think we can run. Hopefully, that is what tonight is going to be about. We're not going to be able to hang it all out like we would like because we didn't go down on the first one. We are looking for some sort of a 4.90 tonight."
