JEG'S Mail Order Racing Saturday Pit Notes
The JEG'S Mail Order Racing Team continued to sort out problems with both machines that have hurt their performance so far this weekend. The two cars have battled with their setup's. Their has been a very delicate balance between a strong 60' time and a strong ET. The problems are not big ones, the team just hasn't used the power that the engine creates very efficiently.
Jeg Coughlin/Pro Stock:
Jeg stated, "This track has really thrown us some curve balls. We are very close on our setup, everything just hasn't work together on the same run at the same time." In the third session the #2 yellow and black JEG'S machine charged toward the 60' foot clock very quickly, but then ran into traction problems down track. The traction problems hurt the overall ET of the run. Jeg did not improve during the third session and landed in the number ten spot.
With the heat beating down on the track the Pro Stock cars took to the 118 degree track. Jeg left the starting line and spun through second and third gear. "We were a little too close to the edge on this run. I think will turn it down a notch and tomorrow and focus on winning," said Coughlin. Jeg will face off against Allen Johnson in round number one.
Troy Coughlin/Pro Stock:
During the third session Troy's biggest problem was not getting to the 60' foot clock quick enough. Troy said, "Once we sort out our problem getting to the 60' clock the rest of the run will fall into place. We are running extremely strong in the second half of the track." Troy ended up in the number fourteen position after the third qualifying session.
The fourth session threw plenty of obstacles at the Pro Stock class. Troy blasted off of the line and headed down the track to the finishline. Troy did not improve and will line up next to Mark Pawuk in a Mail Order Company battle tomorrow. Troy said, "Our setup was a little off. The team will now focus on my next objective, which is getting lane choice for the second round."
