Jeg Is Up Beat Going Into Seattle

The track at Pacific Raceway will have a different look to it when the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series invades the area. The track has been resurfaced and teams are expecting good things from the new surface.

"We are excited to head to Seattle and we are looking forward to the new racing surface," explained Coughlin. "There should be a bit of a learning curve for everyone and that will make it fun for the fans. Having a smooth surface in both lanes combined with sea-level conditions should translate into great racing for the fans."

Jeg Coughlin, Jr will head into the 14th event of the season sitting in the No. 6 position in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock championship. He has 633 points.

The 34-year old, second-generation driver scored a win in 2002 and posted a runner-up finish in 2000. Coughlin has never qualified worse than 10th in his six appearances at Pacific Raceways.

"We are looking forward to having a strong showing this weekend in Seattle," said Coughlin. "It will be great to return to a sea-level track. We have made a number of enhancements to our engines and we are looking forward to seeing where we stack up against the rest of the field."
