National Hot Rod Association: When you think of raw speed, you think of the NHRA and there was plenty of speedy thinking in evidence at the NHRA Prolong Northwest Nationals in Seattle, Wash.

Darrell Alderman established a new Pro Stock speed record of 202.64 mph on the Goodyear D1239 Pro Stock tire. Alderman broke a record set in 1999 by Warren Johnson.

Top Fuel ace Gary Scelzi set the low elapsed time for the event with a quick 4.512-second run and Kenny Bernstein, the Speedmiester, posted a top speed of 322.65 mph.

Scelzi won the Top Fuel final, Whit Bazemore won in Funny Car, Mark Osborne won in Pro Stock, Brandon Bernstein won in Federal Mogul Dragster and Mike Pessemier won in Competition Eliminator.
