Summit Racing's Genuine Hotrod Hardware to Sponsor Humphrey for Remainder of 2010 NHRA Season
Mooresville, N.C., September 15, 2010 -- Officials from Summit Racing Equipment today announced that their Genuine Hotrod Hardware division would serve as the primary sponsor of Ronnie Humphrey's Pro Stock entry for the remainder of the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing season. Starting with this weekend's O'Reilly Nationals in Concord, NC, Humphrey's Pontiac GXP will feature the Genuine Hotrod Hardware logo on its hood and doors to help promote the extensive line of products designed to complement the hot rodder's lifestyle.
"We believe our new sponsorship of Ronnie Humphrey's Pro Stock GXP will help us show drag racing enthusiasts how they can take their passion beyond the dragstrip and into their homes and offices with Genuine Hotrod Hardware," said Jim Greenleaf, Motorsports and Events Manager for Summit Racing Equipment. "Our Genuine Hotrod line includes unique collectibles and hot rod lifestyle products, including a large selection of drag racing collectables, apparel and nostalgia items, and we invite everyone to visit our website at www.GenuineHotrod.com and check it out."
Humphrey, 50, is a second-generation racer in his seventh year of Pro Stock competition. Competing with a team owned by his father Troy, over the last year-and-a-half he has had an increased presence among the "factory hot rods" behind the wheel of a car fielded in conjunction with the championship-contending KB Racing team. Despite running a partial schedule in 2010, his three quarterfinal finishes in nine starts, place the Jacksonville, NC native 18th in the championship standings coming into this weekend, where he looks to make the most of the opportunity.
"On behalf of myself and the entire Troy Humphrey Motorsports team, I would like to welcome Summit Racing and Genuine Hotrod Hardware and thank them for this opportunity," said Humphrey. "In looking at their website and through their catalog I found some really neat things that I think people would be pretty interested in, so we're looking forward to going out there and telling the fans all about it. These last five races promise to be a lot of fun."
