April 27, 1999, Lake Zurich, IL: Tony Gillig and the entire Gillig Motorsports team had a very productive weekend at the Castrol Nationals in Dallas, TX. Despite missing the field by .007 of a second with a 7.018 at 196.37 mph, Team Gillig made great strides in the set up of their Olds Cutlass. Tony stated, "We are still searching for the sweet spot with this car and are getting closer every run. We made some chassis adjustments that seemed to help a lot and we are going to try a whole new combination in Richmond which should help our performance considerably."

As we approach race number 6, Gillig is not giving up yet, he is determined! Tony and team are very optimistic about the Pennzoil Nationals, Virginia race. Gillig is looking forward to putting the Wayne's Pizza - Shanahan Drywall Services Olds Cutlass in the Pro Stock field for the first time. Virginia is a fast track and Gillig's car seems to like the super tracks so this just might be the one where Team Gillig makes the show!
