Kenny Koretsky sets career best ET and speed

Mohnton, Pa. - - Veteran Pro Stock driver Kenny Koretsky, from Richboro, Pa., set a personal career best elapsed time and speed at the recently completed Pep Boys NHRA Nationals presented by Greased Lighting at Maple Grove Raceway, near Reading, Pa. Behind the wheel of the Valspar Pontiac Trans Am, on loan from Richie Stevens Racing, Koretsky became the quickest and fastest NHRA Pro Stock driver from the state of Pennsylvania when he recorded a pass of 6.885 seconds and a speed of 199.37 mph, both during Saturday's qualifying.

The personal best gives Koretsky added optimism as he gets ready for the upcoming O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas, just outside Dallas. The event unfolds October 18-21, with professional qualifying beginning on Friday.

Said Koretsky, "We are looking forward to the Dallas event. It has been our goal this season to push The New Auto Toy Store/Cyclo Industries/Bucks County Kawasaki Chevy Camaro over the 200 mph mark. We still have that goal, but will have to utilize the Valspar Pontiac to achieve a new personal best. We feel we will have the chance to do just that at the Texas Motorplex. It is one of the tracks on the NHRA schedule that you can always count on to be fast."

The reason Koretsky is driving the Richie Stevens Racing backup car, is because Koretsky's regular ride was "demolished" in a test session accident at Englishtown, N.J. several weeks ago, although he was not at the wheel.

Even though the side of his Pontiac reads Valspar, Koretsky's major financial support continues to be provided by The New Auto Toy Store, Cyclo Industries, and Bucks County Kawasaki.

The New Auto Toy Store, with locations in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and West Mifflin, Pa., is the largest exotic showroom in the world. It features classics, hotrods and motorcycles. Among the brands featured are: Bentley, Ferrari, Hummer, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Panoz, Porsche, Qvale, and Rolls-Royce. According to their website (www.thenewautotoystore.com): "When you're looking for a pre-owned exotic car, look no further -- It just doesn't exist if it's not on the floor of the world famous Auto Toy Store."
