Coughlin Brothers Look Strong

A total of thirty-seven hungry Pro Stock drivers began their battle in the first of the two scheduled qualifying days for the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals. The rolling hills that surround Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, PA provide an ideal stage for NHRA's most competitive professional class.

At the conclusion of the first day of qualifying Jeg and Troy Coughlin ended the day in the No. 4 and No. 10 spots respectively. Jeg posted a run of 6.835 at 200.83 mph and Troy tripped the beams with a 6.843 at 199.91 mph. Both of the Jeg's Mail Order drivers improved over their previous runs.

"Everyone knows how important that it is to make a strong run in the Friday night session. We went into the night session in the No. 32 spot and worked as a team to end the night in the No. 10 position. Now we can fine tune our set up for the next two qualifying sessions and get ready for race day," explained Troy.

"We have made two strong runs and they were consistent. Being able to make solid runs right out of the trailer should only help us through the rest of the weekend," said Jeg.
