Reading; pre race: Making their second appearance at the Reading Pa. facility the Wiseguys will try to bust their hard luck string at the 16th annual NHRA Keystone Nationals. Stinging from their bumped-out-at-the-last-minute by the soon-to-be-parted Etchells and Bazemore left the Wiseguys in the number 17 spot at Indy. Especially disappointing as the crew believes that Bazemore was allowed to make his last pass without making the mandatory lane change. Weis said " We really hate missing that race, but overall we have to be pleased in spite of it in light of our performance."
"This is only our second trip to these facilities this year, and this little bit of experience has greatly aided us in being able to read the track surface. I'm particularly pleased also with our steadily improving and more consistent performance. Our car really works well, and responds to power. We have enough time on our clutch to be able to tune with some confidence, and our engine program which is still giving us some trouble is much improved. We are getting very close to being able to deliver enough horsepower to be competitive, but also keep the engine together and lit on all eight to the end of the run. I want to say a special thanks to Chuck's Brush Works for our new paint job and new Wiseguy logo on the hood, and we are really happy with the quality of the work. Also, thanks to Tootees Race Cars, Bruce's Super Body Shops, all the Wiseguys and Wisegirls, the NHRA, and all the fans and supporters of the Wiseguy Racing Team."
