MOHNTON, PA (SEPT. 13th) -- For the second time this season the National Hot Rod Association has postponed an event due to rain. The 19th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway has been postponed until the weekend of Oct. 3-5th.

Just when it looked as though the rain would hold and hundreds of loyal fans would finally get to see Dixon and the Top Fuel field run, the rain came down...hard At that point and after reviewing the Sunday forecast, NHRA officials made the decision to postpone the race.

Last night Dixon's Miller Lite dragster was the last to go down the track at 11:45 PM ET posting a 4.550 ET lap at 322.11 mph. A late night, an early morning and a long day spent waiting on weather is exhausting to both teams and fans.

"I feel bad for the fans and for the guys on the crew," said Dixon. "We're talking seven weeks in a row. We're not at the Winston cup level with 45 people on the team We have the same guys that work on the team everyday for seven weeks straight and now it could possibly be longer; we don't know what the weather will be like in Memphis."

The Snake Racing team will head back to Indy tomorrow where they will prepare for the 16th annual O'Reilly Mid-South Nationals in Memphis Tennessee and the long road trip to follow.
