Fourth on Friday, Line Salutes the Reading Fans

For the second consecutive week, racers had to work around the weather, as the first qualifying session for the Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals was delayed by several hours by rain, with the day's events cut short due to the excessive humidity and resulting slick race track. With only one attempt, Line made a good accounting of himself with a 6.689 second, 206.35 mph pass to place four th heading into Saturday, and immediately thanked the diehard crowd at Maple Grove Raceway, most of whom stayed through the inclement weather, for their support.

"All in all, it was a pretty good day for the Summit Racing team," said Line. "We made it down the racetrack and got all three cars in the top half of the field, so things could be much worse. Considering everything it had gone through in the last day or two with the rain, the track was really pretty good, and I want to thank the fans for sticking around.

"They have some diehard fans here in Pennsylvania, and we really appreciate their support. They wanted to see cars go down the race track, and I feel bad that we couldn't make two runs today. Unfortunately, we have no control over Mother Nature. Hopefully we'll get a full day in tomorrow, making two hits with our Summit Pontiac to fine-tune our set-up, while putting on a good show for them."
