Randy Meyer returns to driving duties at the United Association Route 66 Nationals
Joliet, IL. -- Top Alcohol Dragster team owner, crew chief and driver, Randy Meyer will return to competition at this weekend United Association NHRA Route 66 Nationals to be held at Route 66 Raceway just outside of Chicago. Meyer will compete against some twenty-six Top Alcohol Dragster teams at one of the toughest races of the season.
Meyer a twenty year veteran of the sport has been powering some of the top drivers in his Meyer Racing Injected Nitro Dragster including 2003 Top Alcohol Dragster Champion, Alan Bradshaw. Randy last competed at the NHRA Nationals held in Norwalk, OH nearly twelve months ago.
So far this season, Meyer and team with driver Dan Kracht have made two final round appearances earning their first win at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event held at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota. Meyer has a consistent and competitive entry coming into this weekend's event after a very good outing at last weekends O'Reilly Summer Nationals in Topeka, KS where the team made a successful semi-final finish.
"The car has been performing good" comments Meyer "We had an opportunity to come here test and try some things out before Dan gets back in the car. We have been running good and can use this race to learn more while getting a better edge on our tune-up to help keep us competitive."
Kracht will return to the driving duties at the rescheduled Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event held at Great Bend Raceway, Kansas across June 27th. It is not uncommon to find Meyer stepping into the driving duties so we may just see him behind the wheel a few more times this season.
