Troy Looks to Break Back into Field

Troy Coughlin and his yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier posted a run of 6.841 at 201.94 mph in the opening qualifying session a week ago. He started the second qualifying session looking to improve from the No. 15 spot.

The run Troy made in the second session was not an improvement. He ran a slower 6.924 at 201.07 mph. Troy slipped to the No. 18 position with two remain qualifying sessions to break back into the field.

"The car creeped on the starting line when a brought the engine rpm's up and it just killed our time," said Troy. "We are just going to have to eliminate mistakes like this and make it happen tomorrow. The good thing is that we made it from point A to point B and we have some solid data to tune from for the final two qualifying sessions."

There are two remaining scheduled qualifying sessions before the field is set for the NHRA K&N Filters Winternationals tomorrow (Saturday). The qualifying session are to be held at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
