POMONA, Calif., Nov. 3, 2007 -- Justin Humphreys is the first driver to stand between Greg Anderson and his quest of winning the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock championship Sunday in the Auto Club Finals.

Humphreys' quickest qualifying time, 6.685 seconds at 207.69 mph, came in Saturday's first session and put him 15th in the starting lineup. He is up against Anderson, the current points leader who needs to win at least two rounds to clinch his four career title. He was No. 2, 6.654 at 208.75 mph.

"We never made a good run in qualifying," lamented Humphreys, one of the candidates for the 2007 rookie of the year award. "We had tire shake ... but Bob (Glidden) is working to figure out what was causing it. The good news is we are in the show again. It's not where we want to be but anything can happen on race day."
