Red light ends Line's day and season

POMONA, Calif. (November 4, 2007) -- A red-light ended the day for Jason Line, driver of the KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac, in the second round of eliminations at the 43rd annual NHRA Auto Club Finals.

Line, from Mooresville, N.C, left 11 hundredth of a second too soon, fouling away a 6.672-second pass. Edwards covered the Auto Club Raceway of Pomona (Calif.) quarter-mile in 6.712 seconds.

"We had a good car all weekend and felt we might be able to go the distance today and win the race," said Line following the disappointing set back. "The driver didn't do his part, but I will use the off-season to return my skills to a caliber that will be capable of winning races next season. There will be a lot of work to do during the off-season, but this team is up to the task. You will see a lot more of this Summit Racing Pontiac next season."

Line's reign as the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Champion came to an end and he will finish fifth in the 2007 final Pro Stock point standings.
