VISTA, Calif., Nov. 8, 1999 - Don Prudhomme, owner of the Ron Capps-driven Copenhagen Racing Funny Car team, has named Ed McCulloch as the team's crew chief.

McCulloch, a former Funny Car and Top Fuel driver, takes over the team at the NHRA Auto Club Finals, Nov. 11-14 at Pomona, Calif., replacing Dale Armstrong, who resigned.

"I've known Ed for a long time," Prudhomme said. "We used to race Funny Cars together, and he likes them as much as I do. I like his work ethic. He's a hands-on guy. Todd Okuhara remains as assistant crew chief and the rest of the team also stays the place."

McCulloch, nicknamed "Ace", won 22 races (18 in Funny Car, four in Top Fuel) and three U.S. Nationals titles during his 25-year driving career. He was crew chief for Doug Kalitta, who won 1998 rookie of the year honors by winning once, capturing the $100,000 Big Bud Shootout Top Fuel title and finishing sixth in points.
