Troy Coughlin looks to shine.

Troy Coughlin will head for the sun in Phoenix this weekend for the Checker Schuck's Kragen Nationals. The Ohio native is looking forward to the trip, not just because there is over 18-inches of snow on the ground in Delaware, Ohio. Coughlin is ready to get behind the wheel and back to work.

Troy Coughlin was defeated by the event winner of the K&N Filters Winternationals in the first round. The team showed great strength through qualifying. Troy was the quickest of the field on the opening day. In fact, Team JEG'S made the quickest runs of the session in three of the four qualifying sessions.

"We just did not adapt as well to the conditions on race day as others," said Troy. "Our team actually left Pomona upbeat looking forward to Phoenix. We know that we have everything in place to be a competitive threat week in and week out."

Troy Coughlin and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier will enter the second race of the 2003 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series ready to make a move up the ladder from the No. 15 position in the points. He has 31 points and can make a bold move up in the standings with a strong performance.

"The changes we made in the off season are already paying dividends," commented Troy. "Our engine shop and R&D programs are all ahead of schedule. I am looking forward to having my best year behind the wheel of a Pro Stock car."
