NHRA NAMES PESETSKI DIRECTOR OF ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONS
GLENDORA, Calif. (May 2, 2005) -- John Pesetski has been named NHRA's director of advertising and promotions, it was announced today.
Pesetski has nearly eight years of event marketing experience and has spent the last three years with the Harlem Globetrotters, where he was responsible for the marketing and promoting of games in markets nationwide. In his new role, Pesetski will be responsible for advertising and promotions for the 23-race NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series and he will report to Glen Cromwell, vice president, national event marketing.
"John has demonstrated the ability to increase ticket sales and revenue for different companies throughout his career and we are confident he will bring those same skills to bear on behalf of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series," said Cromwell.
Prior to his stint at the Harlem Globetrotters, Pesetski worked for Global Spectrum at the Colorado Springs (Colo.) World Arena, handling advertising and sales for entertainment bookings at the arena which included concerts and various sporting events.
Pesetski earned his master's degree at the University of Massachusetts and his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, Austin.
Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., the NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. It presents 23 national events through its NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The NHRA has 80,000 members and 140 member tracks. The NHRA-sanctioned sportsman and bracket racing series' provide competition opportunities for drivers of all levels. The NHRA develops the stars of tomorrow by offering the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Racing Series, NHRA Summit Racing Series and the NHRA Street Legal Program. The NHRA also offers the NHRA O'Reilly Auto Parts Jr. Drag Racing League for youths ages 8 to 17.
