RICHFIELD, OH 6/23/04 Mark "Cowboy" Pawuk has announced that his twelve year relationship with Summit Racing Equipment of Tallmadge, Ohio, will come to an end at the conclusion of the 2004 NHRA POWERade Series racing season.

"I'm extremely proud of the fact that our program with Summit Racing Equipment was one of the longest running major sponsorships in Pro Stock," said the owner of Empaco Equipment Corporation from his office on Wednesday morning. "I thoroughly enjoyed working with Summit and I only hope that during my tenure with them I helped in some small way to expand the company's name recognition factor, and therefore product sales.

"Racing is a tough business, and I know that it's commonplace for companies to change their marketing direction from time to time, so I wish Summit well in their future endeavors.

"We're going to keep our options open for the future, as we intend to keep racing as long as its financially viable to do so. I would love to be in the position of announcing a new sponsorship right now, but we're some time away from that at present.

"We will fulfill our every obligation to Summit and the rest of our sponsors for the balance of the season, and will continue to try and get our Pontiac Grand Am into the winner's circle."
