Mother Nature Halts Racing At Orlando Speed World

ORLANDO, FLA. -- Mother Nature showed its harsher side today at Orlando Speed World Dragway with winds gusting to greater than 20 mph forcing NHRA and track officials to pull the plug on competition for the day.

Super Stock qualifying is set as Bob Dennis of Shorter, Ala., qualified in the number one position with a time of 10.743 seconds. Due to the inclement conditions, qualifying is not complete in all other classes; Comp Eliminator, Stock Eliminator, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will all have one addition qualifying run on Sunday morning.

Racing continues Sunday at Orlando Speed World Dragway with gates opening at 8 a.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and children 12 and under free with paid adult. For more information, call the track at (407) 568-2717 or visit www.SpeedWorldDragway.com.
