Kansas City, MO, September 15, 2011 – After qualifying in Pro Stock in his first ever attempt at the NHRA U.S. Nationals, Buddy Perkinson, driver of the Brent Koch AXA Advisors / Wealth Management Strategies Ford Mustang is more than a little excited about the opportunity to run at his NHRA home track of zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC during the 4th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Nationals.

“I am so pumped-up about running at zMax,” says Perkinson. “This is the closest NHRA national event to my home and where I grew up racing. After our Big Go qualifying run at Indy, I know we're going to have lots of family, friends and fans cheering us on as we try to go even deeper into eliminations at Charlotte.”

Perkinson explains that the team was going to do some pre-race testing, but circumstances prevented that. “We've been working on the car and made a lot of adjustments to get it back to where it was after our testing before Indy,” explains Perkinson. “Once we got to Indy, we actually had to detune the car and move some weight around just to keep from knocking the tires off of it.”

Once again, Perkinson will be racing with championship-winning Ford horsepower from Larry Morgan Racing. “We've put some more bite back into the car,” says Perkinson. “our goal is to be able to get more power down earlier in the run. At Indy, we really had to leave soft and hit it harder down the track. We were fighting some wicked wheel spin so we had to calm it down just to get the run started. We have the power, we have the car, we have the we just have to get them all working together on the track.”

Based on the team's performance at Indy – bumpting their way into the Big Go – Perkinson is very optimistic about his team's efforts this weekend. “As a team and with support from Larry Morgan and his crew, our guys never gave up, never buckled under the pressure of the U.S. Nationals,” says Perkinson. “We proved it to ourselves on our very first race working together – we know how to get it done in the pits and on the track. And of course, having my family, friends and fans there to support us never hurts.”

Returning for a second race, Perkinson's Mark Wolfe-owned Pro Stock Mustang will once again be sponsored by Brent Koch AXA Advisors and Wealth Management Strategies and will be crewed by Christian Thompson and Randy Perkinson with support from Larry Morgan Racing. “I'm hoping this week that both Larry and I can both put our Ford Mustangs into the show,” notes Perkinson. “I also want to thank my sponsors for sticking with us for another awesome NHRA National event.”

Stepping up to help sponsor Perkinson Racing for this event is Brent Koch, AXA Advisors / Wealth Management Strategies based out of Irvine, California. “Watching Buddy qualify for the U.S. Nationals and be a part of his team's efforts was a great experience,” notes Brent Koch of AXA Advisors. “Helping a young racer accomplish one of his life-long dreams was a pleasure and we have a lot of confidence in him and his team for the zMax race.”
