GLENDORA, Calif. - Moto1.net has reached a multi-year agreement with the National Hot Rod Association to become the title sponsor of the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series event at Virginia Motorsports Park in late April. The Moto1.net NHRA Nationals presented by Chevrolet will be held April 27-30 at the quarter-mile drag racing facility located just south of the Virginia capital city of Richmond.

The $1.7 million race, the sixth of 23 events in the $45 million NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series for 2000, will be televised by The Nashville Network (TNN), April 30 at 4:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

It is the first NHRA sponsorship involvement for Moto1.net and the second e-commerce event sponsorship for the NHRA. The new event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is sponsored by SummitRacing.com.

"We're delighted to introduce Moto1.net as a new member of the NHRA family of sponsors," said Steve Johnson, NHRA vice president of sales. "As the Internet continues to have great impact on our daily routines, e-commerce sponsorships and advertising programs have become increasingly popular. Certainly, we realize the power of the information age and are eager to build solid partnerships with new and exciting companies like Moto1.net." The Moto1.net sponsorship is another creative marketing approach for the event, which in the past presented the popular Virginia Department of Tourism's 'Virginia is for Lovers' campaign.

"We're proud to welcome Moto1.net on board as the title sponsor of our NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series event," said Paul Coleman, Virginia Motorsports Park general manager. "We realize the great cross-promotional opportunities with an Internet-based title sponsor and are proud to once again be on the cutting-edge of developing innovative sponsorship packages for the sport of drag racing."

Moto1.net has established alliances with a number of other leading motorsports sanctioning bodies, including the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA); Sports Car Club of America (SCCA); and the American Power Boat Association (APBA). The company offers authentic racing through state-of-the-art computer simulations for multi-player Internet and stand-along PC racing. Current titles available or in production include NHRA Drag Racing, AMA Superbike, SCCA Trans-Am and a second drag racing racing title, currently scheduled for release before the end of the year.

"We're excited about our new partnership with the NHRA and Virginia Motorsports Park through the Moto1.net NHRA Nationals," said Henry Price, director of sales and marketing for Motor Simulations, Inc. "We've had great success with other promotions linked to a variety of different motorsports venues in the past. The raw power and excitement of the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series is very attractive to us and we think it makes a perfect fit for our new website, Moto1.net."
