Unveiled: Scelzi's new Hemi Funny Car.

Images of the hot new Hemi paint scheme on Gary Scelzi's Funny Car have been released. Scelzi's Hemi Oakley Dodge Stratus from Schumacher Racing will feature a demented Oakley mad scientist zapping life into a beastly Mopar Hemi engine.

"We're really excited about Dodge and Mopar promoting the Hemi," Scelzi said. "We have two brand-new race cars. We're going to be working with both cars under different conditions, to see which car works the best in the heat and which car works the best in the cold. It's possible that you actually might need different cars for hot, slippery racetracks than you do for cold, sticky racetracks."

Scelzi will take to the track for testing Jan. 28-31 in Las Vegas and Feb. 6-8 near Phoenix, Ariz.

Scelzi holds the Funny Car national top speed record of 329.18 mph, which he set in 2003 while driving he Oakley Time Bomb Dodge Stratus. Image
