After losing Ford and Castrol, John Force Racing is making a sponsor rebound.
Talk to veteran drag racer John Force this past year, and the conversation would quickly center on one thing: Sponsors. Or, more specifically, the absence of sponsors.
Force has built a massive, and winning, drag racing empire with himself, Robert Hight and Courtney Force in Funny Cars, and Brittany Force in Top Fuel. But losing longtime product sponsor Castrol, and manufacturer Ford, which essentially decided to back away almost entirely from drag racing, left the 66-year-old veteran reeling.
"I know we have a great product," Force told Motorsport.com. "And I have to think we'll find the sponsors we need to keep John Force Racing going. But it's a struggle." And, obviously, a distraction from what's at hand: Winning on the track.
Force landed Chevrolet to replace Ford, and though Chevy has yet to fully activate its role with JFR, that is coming. And with today's announcement that daughter Brittany's Top Fuel dragster has landed a major sponsor, Monster Energy drink, John Force is bound to sleep a little easier.
The multi-year primary sponsorship agreement will begin this weekend at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals in Atlanta. Brittany Force’s Top Fuel dragster will be adorned with the Monster Energy logo and branding for the duration of the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season and beyond.

Monster Energy 'M'
The excitement of adding the recognizable Monster Energy “M” to her Top Fuel Dragster is not lost on the 2013 Auto Club Road to the Future Award winner. Brittany Force has raced to four final rounds and three No. 1 qualifiers in her career and continues to stay focused on picking up her first career Top Fuel win.

Of course, this doesn't mean John Force will stop worrying -- only that maybe he can now spend more time worrying about what's most important to him: Getting that 17th champonship.
