BAZEMORE STRENGTHENS INVOLVEMENT WITH CHEVROLET

Bazemore Racing announced today that Chevrolet has renewed and strengthened its involvement with Whit Bazemore for the 1999 NHRA Drag Racing season. Chevrolet has indicated that it has been satisfied with Bazemore's program since the team switched to the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Funny Car body in July.

Bazemore, 35, of Indianapolis, is less than one round out of the top five in Winston Funny Car Championship points, and continues to seek major sponsorship for the '99 season and beyond.

"We feel honored to have an association with Chevrolet," said Bazemore, "and we are extremely pleased to announce that company's increased support of our team for 1999 and beyond. Our association with Chevrolet has provided us additional credibility in our talks with other Fortune 500 companies concerning major sponsorship for Bazemore Racing."

Bazemore was informed July 17 that Winston would not support a Funny Car team after the 1998 season. Bazemore Racing is currently in negotiations with several Fortune 500 companies for major backing.
