JEG'S Pro Stock Trucks Are Getting Ready For Raceday
The Pro Stock Truck class was the firs professional class to take on the quarter mile battle field, the remaining professional classes will begin their qualifying tomorrow.
The weather conditions were drastically different then what the teams dealt with last week in Topeka. Sunny blue sky's surrounded the Memphis Motorsports Park facility.
In the first qualifying session John was the first of the two JEG'S Mail Order entry's to pull into the waterbox. John lined up in the left lane. The truck left the starting line beams and took off toward the finishline.
John landed in the number seventeen spot after the first session. Coughlin said, "We have a good baseline to tune from. The truck followed the groove all the way down the track."
Mike Coughlin was in the right lane for the first session. The yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order S-10 blasted off of the starting line and took off like a rocket, as he followed the groove to the big end. The run looked good to the eye and on the graph after the run.
Mike noted, "I think that we are starting off where we left off in Topeka, things are looking good and feel great going into this weekend." Mike marched up to the number three spot after the first session.
During the second session the two JEG'S Mail Order Pro Stock Truck lined up next to eachother. Mike took the left lane and John pulled into the right.
Mike and his DART powered JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 left the starting line and followed the groove to the finishline. Mike did not improve his qualifying time, but continued to show the class that this truck will be a force to deal with this weekend.
Mike and his #28 JEG'S Mail Order S-10 stayed in the number three position. Mike stated, "We just need to fine tune things. We are making good runs, but I know that we are capable of much more." The team will continue to make small measurable changes to the setup.
John Launched from beams and the front half times looked great. However, the truck slowed at the 1000' foot clock. The team went through the truck to determine if there were any problems areas and will be ready to go in the morning tomorrow.
John commented, "The JEG'S machine is showing great numbers in the front half of the track, we will now focus more energy on the back half. I think that we are looking very strong this weekend." John slipped down four spots and is currently resting in the number twenty-one position after two qualifying session.
