Memphis, Saturday; The Wiseguy crew took the Tootees house car to the best ever 4.95 ET to nail down the number nine spot at the 13th annual Auto Zone Nationals presented by Pennzoil. The steadily-improving second-year team took the Bruce's Super Body Shops 2000 Corvette to two of their best passes to date in the near perfect conditions of Memphis Motorsports Park. The team recently acquired increased financial backing from Nitronamiac.com and G-Man Sportswear, and this help building up the parts reserves has enabled the team to really step up. This team has demonstrated real ability, and considering their virtual rookie status this kind of performance can only bode well for the future. Racing at a distinct financial disadvantage compared to the top teams, the Wiseguy crew has taken their three year old Tootees Race Cars chassis, which in another life was an IHRA record holding A fuel car to being competitive in an NHRA fuel car race. All this adds up to a bright future for this young team when their financial situation improves. Weis said "Man, that was something. I feel like letting out a big rebel yell. The boys and I are really feeling good about the work we've done this weekend. I can't say enough about my Dad and my brothers as well as my Mother and all the guys who help with the car here at the track. We have all worked hard to prove we could run these kind of numbers, and we are all pleased to have run so well." "I want to say thanks to the people who have had faith in me and have helped me, Bruce's Super Body Shops, Nitromaniac.com, G-Man Sportswear, Chuck's Brush Works. Especially to someone who has had faith in me since the first time I walked in his shop, down in South Carolina. Tootee has always believed in me, and always supplied me with top of the line equipment and the kind of personal service I have never seen anywhere else. I have told him this is the best chassis I have ever owned, and this chassis was not even built to race in this class. I called him after that 4.95 and told him that when he actually builds us a nitro car there is no telling how quick it might go." "Tootee has given us a lot, sometimes more than he could afford. This run was a birthday present for him, and a way of saying 'thanks for the support buddy'. I never forget that this thing is a team effort. That each one of the people on the crew, the sponsors who support us, the fine people at the NHRA, and the good people at the National Dragster like, Phil Burgess, who gives us favorable press are all a part of it. All these people help make it possible for me to be here and I appreciate it."

"Our whole crew wants to send our prayers to Tony Schumacher and our hopes for a speedy recovery."
